Grace And Choice
Grace
brings salvation, it brings Sanctification, it also grants you access to all
the benefits of the Holy Spirit in fulness, but it does not turn you into a
statue (of no will) nor a robot (of a programmed choice).
"For
the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us
that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,
righteously, and godly, in this present world;" (Titus 2:11-12).
Unlike
the unregenerated man who is destitute of the grace of God, and who, as a
servant of sin, with or without his free will/choice is subject to obeying the
desires and dictates of sin, self and Satan (Romans 7:15-20) ... Grace brings
you to such a level at which the matter of sinning or not sinning becomes
subject to your own conscious and deliberate choice/decision. Temptations
coming to your heart first reaches a 'barricade', thereby becoming subject to
your more convenient refusal against sin or your deliberate rebellion against
the will and the word of God (1 John 3:8,9).
Now,
God, in His own integrity, as long as you are human and as long as you are on
this earth, will not deprive you of your right, that He gave you from creation,
to choose and to decide your own ways and your own destiny.
Satan
seem to know this, and therefore does not give up on tempting anyone to sin as
long as he/she still lives in this body of flesh, believing that one day before
death he/she, of it's own choice (like Adam/Eve), can rebel against God by
yielding to the temptations to sin.
"Ye
therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also,
being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
But
grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To
him be glory both now and forever. Amen." (2 Peter 3:17-18)
